12/07/24 THE TRUTH, THE WHOLE TRUTH AND NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH

12/07/24 THE TRUTH, THE WHOLE TRUTH AND NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH

Martha and I enjoy watching various kinds of music videos, including old and recent recordings of Christian songs, love songs (which express our affection and appreciation for each other), pop music from the past, popular singers, solo and groups, social media and talent competition.

Music performers are sometimes haughty and extremely temperamental. However, the more accomplished performers recognize their limitations and their need to improve. They may be overconfident, but they seldom see themselves as being absolutely perfect.

The narcissist (musically or otherwise) sees himself or herself as being absolutely perfect, not needing, wanting or accepting criticism, instruction, or the need to improve. They view and present themselves as if other people also consider them to be flawless, and they become defensive and incensed when criticized. It is not simply a case of self worth, it is self-worship. Even when they honor other people, it is for the purpose of lauding themselves.

There is no hope for unrepentant people who think more highly of themselves than they ought to think. They strut around, stepping on other people and totally oblivious to the fact that they appear more baboon than brilliant.

Those who exalt themselves in such a way are doomed to failure and ridicule, though thinking they are idolized by other people.

Though God is merciful and redemptive (by nature and by action), He allows people who are filled with pride to deceive themselves to separate themselves from God forever.

In love, God provided a way to escape from Divine judgment while maintaining Divine justice. We should not encourage destructive pride by stroking a person's ego any more than we should give destructive drugs to an addict.
It is not loving or redemptive to let someone walk into eternal disaster.
