10/27/24 COMPLIMENTARY, NOT CONTRADICTORY
The Christian life and experience is both simple and multifaceted.
It is simple in the sense that we we are saved by believing on, and trusting in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
But there are various facets to the Christian life.
It is...
Divine and Human;
Trusting and Obeying;
Resting and Working;
Private and Corporate (with other believers);
Personal and Social (with the world);
Scriptural and Cultural;
Doctrinal and Practical;
Devotional (Meditative) and Behavioral;
Spiritual and Relational (upward, inward, and outward);
Spiritual (the inner man) and Natural (the outer man).
It is important to realize and understand the various sides to our relationship with God and to keep everything in balance.
God instructs us to bring our lives into submission and alignment with His will, to walk in His steps. We should not worry about our relationship with God, but we must not presume on God. Salvation is an interactive relationship between us and God.
Psalm 139:23-24 KJV
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:
24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
