10/08/24 GOD WORKS THROUGH GOVERNMENT
God has given American politicians the opportunity to do the right thing during these difficult and tragic days of natural phenomena and worldwide upheaval. Too bad they decided to choose to do the wrong thing. This results in all of us suffering.
Remember, God gave man the responsibility to govern our own society, which is basically: protect the law abiding and punish the lawless.
Proverbs 29:2
2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.
James 4:17
17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
Our leaders know right from wrong, good from evil. When they choose the wrong direction, they bring the wrath of God down on themselves, and sadly, the innocent suffer in this life because of the choices and actions of evil men. Though the innocent will suffer in this life because of the deeds of evil men, each man is judged by God, based on his own relationship with God.
Don't read anything into this post, other than what it says. I am not addressing the whole issue of good and evil or God's use of evil. God in His sovereignty, allows humans to freely choose or refuse faith and obedience, and God allows Satan to use nature to tempt and afflict men. I certainly do not believe that moral evil is the work of God.
God wants to save and bless us, but human resistance and rejection of God's grace and rule has consequences, in the now and for eternity.
Luke 12:32
32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
Romans 8:28
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
James 1:17
17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
2 Peter 1:3
3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
Romans 2:2-13
2 But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things.
3 And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?
4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; 6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds:
7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,
9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;
10 But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:
11 For there is no respect of persons with God.
12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;
13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
