09/21/24 FISHING AT THE CREEK
Most folks, who know me personally, know that I pray for and look for opportunities to witness while I am out and about, whether running an errand, going to the store, eating out or enjoying recreational activities.
Today was no exception. I went to "Tea Creek" (as I call it today because of the water color, caused by all the recent rain), to fish. Though I did not expect to catch anything, I did have a couple of opportunities to witness. As usual, I mentioned the chaos and dangers of our present evil world, which actually confirms the extraordinary accuracy of Biblical prophecy from thousands of years ago, concerning end time Geo-political alignments, military alliances, attacks on Israel, moral decay. I also point out the importance of being in a right relationship with the God of the Bible, through Jesus Christ. On both occasions today I invited them to come to The Net House and told them I would be glad to come to their home and talk or answer questions.
I was fishing when I first got involved in a conversation. The first situation lasted some time, and I quit fishing in order to talk to the person. When I finally got into my car to head home (1/2 mile away), I saw a person I have not seen for a couple of weeks. I had been trying to get up with him, to invite him to service and let him know I would like to visit in his home if he ever wants to talk. That conversation also went very well.
Earlier, while I was fishing, I only caught a jumping mullet in my cast net. I did see a lot of fish (not just bait fish) swimming up the creek. It looks like fishing should get better soon.
Sometimes a first impression of a person is daunting, but often I find those people to be fairly easy to talk with. In fact, both of these men asked some very good questions, which allowed me to say more than I thought I would be able to say. Praise the Lord.
