09/21/24 CONCERNING SELF DISCIPLINE

Observations.
People who do not have self discipline do not like to be disciplined by someone else.
People without spiritual self discipline do not want to submit to spiritual authority.
People who reject authority tend to be controllers of other people.

This is one reason Christian characteristics and authority should be active in a person's life. Without the Fruit of the Spirit, Biblical authority, and spiritual guidance people become a law unto themselves.

Those who are self-sufficient look to their own understanding, their own knowledge, their own wisdom. Their pride not only cuts off God's Personal enlightenment, it also rejects the insights and enlightenment of other people, including parents, pastors, spiritual leaders and the corporate influence of the church.

Again, this reflects back to the importance of God's order of authority in the family and the local church.
