04/11/24 WE ARE A TEAM

At various times in ministry I have met lay people who were deeply in love with the Lord and committed to His work. Sadly, many of them attended either Liberal or lukewarm churches, and sometimes they had hirelings instead of pastors.

I always thought, what a shame and a waste that those folks were spinning their spiritual wheels, getting nowhere fast and accomplishing a mere shadow of what they would if they were being properly fed, developed, trained, led and enabled by Spirit led pastors.

O. J. Simpson passed away today. He is answerable to God for his own life. However, as an athlete he is an interesting example of what it means to be a strong player, an accomplished and talented athlete, but a failure on the gridiron because he did not have the football team helping him.

There is no telling how many great ministries have failed along the way because there was a lack of team commitment. Sometimes a team of lesser players actually reach a higher level of success than a team with Lone Ranger superstars, who are more focused on their own pleasures and treasures than they are on the good of the team. If your church is going to fail along the way, let it be because of someone else. Commit yourself to being all you can be and doing all you can do as a faithful child of God and follower of Christ.
