10/31/24 PAY ATTENTION

10/31/24 PAY ATTENTION

Though daddy was not a Christian when I was a child, I could have learned so much more from him than I did. Now he is gone, and those opportunities are gone too.

I am learning how to tie some knots, which will be useful for my kayaking. I could have learned them years ago if I had taken advantage of daddy's knowledge.

My heavenly Father is teaching me about the fret not, which holds me secure when the winds of change and adversity rage against me.

I did the best I could in teaching my children and grandchildren the Bible, Biblical doctrine, Christian principles, and ministry fundamentals. Some of them may never miss the treasures I could have shared with them, but I will always miss the opportunities that could have been.

As a parent or grandparent, be sure to offer God’s light even if they don't show an interest in listening or learning. Maybe they will value your input later, before it is too late.

As a child or grandchild, seek the knowledge of deeply committed and highly informed parents and grandparents. There will come a time when that opportunity will be gone.
