09/06/24 LIVING BY FAITH IS A CHOICE

Though living by faith is a challenge for God's faithful children, it is not a burden. It becomes a burden when we rely on self, the arm of flesh, human ingenuity, manpower. 

We must build ourselves up on the holy faith and keep ourselves in the love of God.
Jude 1:20-21
20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

We do these two things by humbling ourselves, aggressively seeking the Lord with the single eye, praying, reading and meditating on God's word, following the leading of the Holy Spirit, loving God with our whole being and loving our neighbor as we love ourselves, turning from evil, obeying God's commands, walking in the light we have already received.

There are other parts to the victorious Christian life. For the true child of God these actions are not human efforts of self righteousness; they are deliberate acts of faithful and loving obedience to our Lord and Savior. They are natural actions in the the realm of the supernatural life of those who are partakers of Divine nature. They are choices we make, rather than functions of Divine manipulation.

Living by faith is a choice, but it is a choice that we must make if we are going to be God's children.
