09/03/24 REMEMBER NOT...

09/03/24 REMEMBER NOT...

In the treasure trove of Psalm 25 we come across this beautiful gem.
Psalms 25:7
7 Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness' sake, O LORD.

It is beautiful because we have times in our youthful days that are disgusting. We do not want God to remember, hold those times against us.

Sadly, we remember too many of those dark, ugly events from our youth and we remember them too graphically. How many times I have wished that I had not known or seen or heard or done things as a youth. Yes, God forgave me, and He delivered me from the guilt, the power and the pollution they created. But the memories still rise up to taunt me, to tempt me, to trouble me.

Sometimes those memories plague folks.
Sometimes those thoughts suddenly pop up and may lead some away from walking in God's light.

Even when we remain faithful, the memories of dark youthful moments cause us pain.

Young people need to draw near to Jesus, set their course, and follow Him as closely as possible. God will not only forgive you of your sins, but He will also lead you away from temptation and deliver you from the evil one. The more wickedness we allow in our lives as young people, the more opportunities Satan has to afflict us later in life.

Even when we have victory over our sins, and though we are forgiven, cleansed and empowered to live in victory, we will still bear the scars of those spiritual conflicts.

Spiritual and mental and emotional scars are not defeats or corruption or weaknesses, but they do cause pain.

It is wonderful that God will not remember the sins of our youthfulness against us, but more blessed is the young believer who lives in the light of God's word. Not only should we not walk in darkness we should walk in the power of the Holy Spirit. We should make good memories during our youth. This will give Satan less opportunity to attack and defeat us and it will give us a foundation of victory.

09/03/24 KNOWING WHERE YOU ARE

09/03/24 KNOWING WHERE YOU ARE

People may know where they are located geographically, but still be lost.
Loved ones may be breathing and moving, but still be dead.
Folks may make free will choices, but still be slaves.

It is possible to have 20/20 vision, but still be as blind as a baseball bat.
It is possible to mistakenly resent the people who love you the most.
It is possible to do evil, but think it is the work of God.

Satan is the deceiver, thief, robber and destroyer of human lives and relationships.

Jesus enlightens and enables us to see our condition and our need, and to receive deliverance from darkness and death through faith in Christ.

Don't allow anyone to lead you away from God's Way, Truth and Life. Receive Christ as Lord and Savior. Believe Him and He will set you free from deception, bondage and corruption.

Scriptures tells us to be proactive in our relationship with God.

2 Peter 1:10-11
10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Jude1:20-21
20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

09/01/24 THERE ARE EVIL "gods"

09/01/24 THERE ARE EVIL "gods"

There are evil "gods." But there is only one true God, and He is God by nature, and He is not evil.

All other "gods" (as generally referred to as "gods") are "gods" by appointment: this means they are erroneously worshiped and served and referred to as "gods" by misled people.

The nature of God is revealed by His word and His works. God's nature is consistent and complimentary to it's self, it is not contradictory or conflicted.

God is good, righteous, holy, pure, true, loving, just, merciful and He is perfect in His nature and in His works. God is not exempt from sin because He is "sovereign," but because His nature is without sin. God is sovereign but His sovereignty and His works are always consistent with His nature and His word. Any "god," which acts contrary to the nature of the God of the Bible is a false god. Evil actions by a god cannot be justified or sanctified in the name of some "supposed sovereignty."

It is true that God cannot sin, but it is because He is holy and unchanging. God does not act contrary to His nature. A "god" who acts contrary to the revealed nature of the God of the Bible is a false god.

The popular god of sinning religion is ruled by its own sovereignty. Present day "Christianity" worships a false god and preaches a graceless, powerless, loveless salvation. This is why we seldom see love, peace, joy, righteous living, gracious unity, or salvation from sin.

Don't put on the glasses that distort and discolor the glorious truth of God's nature, works, word and salvation. If your doctrines don't deliver you from sin and conform you to the image of the loving God of the Bible, then you are believing a lie and following a false god.
