If you don't get the basics early in your Christian life, it will not matter how much God blesses you, enlightens you, provides for you, protects you, enables you, gifts you, encourages you, forgives you, leads you; you will always be wallowing in the mud, you will never reach maturity, you won't live in purity, you will never live a victorious spiritual life, you will never reach your potential.

The longer you drift in the doldrums, the longer you feed on the husks, the longer your focus on self, the longer you reject and neglect God's guidance into His light (through personal reading, Biblical preaching, spiritual teaching, godly counsel), the longer you hold onto the sins and weights of this world, the longer you trust in self reliance, grope in worldly and man centered wisdom, which is devilish, earthly, sensual, and .........................
